What is your work process?
I generally divide my projects into three stages: Strategy, Design, and Development. Each stage is broken down into different steps and milestones that assure the successful completion of a project. Please note that is very important to complete all steps on each stage, before moving to the next one.

Once my site is done, what level of technical expertise does the content manager (or myself) need to have in order to add new content?
This will depend on the kind of solution you decide to go with. Most likely, if you deal with a significant amount of content, I will suggest developing a web solution that involves the use of a CMS (Content Management System). A tool like this, will help you manage the different sections of your site that contain dynamic content - you will be able to add, edit, and delete anything you want. You will interact with the CMS through a friendly user interface that will make this process simple and quick. You should know I am a big fan of ExpressionEngine CMS, and that is probably the direction I will suggest taking.
A second type of solution, will be one that doesn’t necessarily involve the use of a CMS. These solutions are cheaper, but also require you to have a level of experience in HTML and CSS if you decide to edit content yourself. You will be dealing directly with the code of the site. This type of solution is only recommended if you know what you are doing.
I have a person who will do all the site development, can I hire you just to design the User Interface?
Absolutely. My services are completely modular. I am happy to be part of teams and contribute with a particular role in the process. Additionally, I have a strong belief that a good foundation is the key to a project success - with this I am of course referring to the strategy of your site, which I am happy to go over with you to improve it. It is important to define clear business objectives and a strong project road map before jumping into production.
Additionally, I am happy to help you put together a team. I work with many professionals who are experts in their fields, who may be great assets to your project. You can click here to learn more about collaboration.
I have my website design ready, can I hire you just for the development?
Absolutely. My services are completely modular. I am happy to be part of teams and contribute with a particular role in the process. Just understand that I will first need to take a look at the design that has been made, to try to identify potential problems or limitations (if any) based on you functional objectives. You can take care of these suggestions on your side, or I can be that person optimizing this design before going into a development stage.
I have a big project in mind, can you help me put together a team to get it done?
Absolutely. I work and collaborate with a selected group of creatives and agencies that complement my own work. They all specialize in different creative and technical areas, and have remarkable competences in their respective fields. I am more than happy to review your project needs to define a potential team of experts.

What is Front-End Development?
Front-End Development refers to a person who specializes in certain web technologies, that pertain to the interaction between the user and a website or web application. These technologies include HTML (HyperText Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and JavaScript. These technologies are responsible for the structure, styling, and behavior of a website.
To help complement this question, I would like to quote Ivan Codesido’s article What is front-end development? on guardian.co.uk (see original article here.)
In our visually and tecnhologically sophisticated society, access to information and knowledge seems easier than making sense of it or decide its veracity - on the web, pages and appplications are built by front-end developers to present and put data or relationships in context.
Front-end or client-side development is a relatively obscure Internet discipline. Historically, this role has been known under several aliases, htmler, web designer, coder, frontender and so on, but its core functions remain the same while expanding with the progress of the Internet. It is a hinge role that requires both aesthetic sensitivity and programmatic rigor.
To many people, client-side development might be perceived as ‘making things pretty’ and, while it is a valid comment since we do make things look good, as good-looking things sell better, there are many other technologies that fall within this field that might be usually overlooked.
Front-End Developers are in charge of creating the face of a website, and the way that face speaks to its audience. Take Steve Jobs’ words for it.
Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.
What type of guaranties would I have once the site has been completed?
I am commited to always delivering high quality projects and personally try as hard as I can to make you feel completely satisfied with the results of your projects. These goals of course are explicitly defined in our project proposal and will be the guidelines to what will be achieved with the project. If time allows and schedules work better than expected, I am happy to improve and polish areas of the project that will benefit from an extra feature or something in particular.
My word, a contract, and people testimonials are the best initial guaranties I can give you. After that, my work and dedication will speak for themselves.
How do you charge for your work?
I estimate the time needed to complete each stage and multiply that by my hourly rate of a specific task. If your project involves hiring external resources, the process will be the same but obviously using their hourly rate (see collaboration). For large and/or extensive projects, we can consider a different hiring model which we can discuss.
My goal when presenting a project proposal, will always be to help you find the solutions that benefit your project objectives and budget.
Are there any prerequisites I need to have before hiring you to build my website?
Not what so ever. If you have anything done, this is probably going to speed up the process, otherwise, I am here to help you get through every step of the process in order to successfully achieve your business objectives. I can help you from the initial strategy and concept stages of the process, all the way till its complete development.

I need to update (or add) a section on my site. What do I do?
This will depend on the type of development solution that was implemented on your site, which is defined based on the project needs. If that section was predefined to be dynamic, there would most likely be a control panel you can access to add and manage these information. If what you need to update is a completely new section on your site, you most likely would need to rehire me or other developer to create it.
At the beginning STRATEGY stage of the project, this will be defined and clearly planned based on your needs for the development solution. Click here to learn more about process.
